Welcome to Bike Trail Reviews

A comprehensive review of bicycle trails with an eye for detail.

Tired of the same old path?  Tired of your same old routine, pedaling away from your house, around the school, turn around at the post office?  There are some fantastic trails in your area and we are here to tell you about them.  At BTR, you won't get the normally blurry pdf. file map with a sketchy description.  We review the trails because WE RIDE 'EM.  Click on a trail and you'll see a detailed description about that trail.  We add sites to see, places to visit and points of interest.  We provide the safest street-connector routes and the best places to park.  We'll tell you the best places for a family ride and the best places (and times) to speed train.  The best part of this site is that we are not sponsored, nor are we affiliated with any special interest groups, municipalities or other government agencies.  This affords us an honest opinion of the trails, if a trail is sub-par, or even dangerous, we think every biker should know.  We are simply avid bikers who saw a need to fill.  After years of navigating spiderweb-like bike trails with little or no direction, we began to keep a record of the little things, like the best places for lunch or the closest water fountains.  We realized that it is information such as this, that should be disseminated and shared among the biking community.

About us:

The owners, or webmasters, of BTR are avid bikers.  We are not professional bikers, we are your neighbors, co-workers and fellow bicyclists.  Kids, jobs and a lazy dog or two, they all make it hard to get pedaling but with a passion for biking we can make the best of a day outing.  We support "take your bike to work day" but believe it shouldn't be limited to one day a year.  In the midwest, the biking season may be short but we think one tends to make the most of something, the rarer that something comes around.

At BTR we have contibutors at different levels of biking.  From Sunday afternoon cruisers to serious triathaletes.  They each provide a different perspective to a particular trail and we try to take a little piece of every contribution as a whole.
